Will German health insurance (Krankenkasse) pay for a Trionic?
In Germany, some Krankenkassen contribute to a Trionic rollator and some do not – it depends on your Krankenkasse, so please check with them first.
Trionic cannot accept prescriptions or bill the Krankenkasse. Instead:
- Ask us for a cost estimate (Kostenvoranschlag) for the model you want – in our online shop or by email to support@trionic.com.
- Send the cost estimate, together with your doctor's prescription if you have one, to your Krankenkasse.
- Your Krankenkasse decides whether, and how much, it contributes.
Some Krankenkassen only contribute to aids that have a German Hilfsmittelnummer, or that are supplied by a medical supply store (Sanitätshaus) they have a contract with. Trionic rollators do not have a Hilfsmittelnummer, so in those cases the answer may be no.
