My Walker is hard to fold, or the folding lock is jammed – what can I do?
If your Walker has become stiff to fold or unfold, or the folding lock is jammed and won't open, the locking mechanism usually needs lubricating. The lock sits under the seat on the left side: spray the latch, the pin and the spring with Teflon (PTFE) spray or oil, then open and close the lock a few times so the spray works its way in.
The red folding strap has broken
The red strap behind the seat is what you pull to fold the Walker. If it has dried out or snapped, order a new Walker Seat Strap. Cut off the old strap, thread both ends of the new strap through the seat the same way as the old one, and attach them to the key rings with the help of a flat screwdriver. The folding joint keeps coming apart
If the part that comes loose when you pull the red strap keeps coming apart, a small 6 mm circlip (SGA retaining ring) may be missing from the groove behind the aluminium bar at the folding joint. We don't stock this circlip, but a local bike shop can fit one – it needs circlip pliers.
