My Veloped folding push-button won't hold or stays pressed in – what can I do?
The Veloped folds with a telescopic folding stay that locks with spring-loaded push buttons – there is no folding strap on the Veloped. If a button no longer pops out and holds, or stays pressed in, the small V-shaped spring behind it has usually lost its tension. You can often fix this yourself in a few minutes, or replace the button with a new spare part.
How to fix it
- Fold the Veloped halfway.
- Detach the middle telescopic tube of the folding stay.
- Push out the button together with its V-spring, for example with a pen.
- Bend the spring slightly outwards so that it presses harder.
- Put the button and spring back so that the button sits centred in its hole, then refit the tube.
