Hello! How can we help you?

How secure is your password?

The first step in protecting your online data is to create a strong password, i.e. a password that neither a computer program nor a persistent person can detect within a short period of time.

To assist you in choosing a strong password, we have developed a function with which you can check its security as soon as you create a password.

Tips for creating a strong password:

  • Use punctuation marks and/or numbers.
  • Mix upper and lower case letters.
  • Include similar-looking replacement characters, such as the number zero for the letter 'O', or the symbol '$' for the letter 'S'.
  • Create a unique acronym.
  • Include phonetic substitutions, such as 'the 2nd coup' for 'the second coup'.

    What to Avoid:

  • Do not use the password listed as an example of how a password should be chosen.
  • Do not use a password that contains personal information (name, date of birth, etc.).
  • Do not use terms or acronyms found in a dictionary.
  • Do not use keyboard patterns (asdf) or serial digits (1234).
  • Your password should not consist entirely of numbers, uppercase letters, or lowercase letters.
  • Do not use repetitive characters (aa11).

Tips for using your password securely:

  • Never give your password away (not even to a life partner, roommate, parrots, etc.).
  • Never write down your password.
  • Never email your password.
  • Test and change your current password regularly.
