Hello! How can we help you?

Why do my hands hurt when walking with a rollator?

The hands bolster a large part of the upper body weight onto the grips of a rollator. Thus there is constant and high pressure on a small area causing nerves to be irritated. It is also common that many rollator users bend their wrists too much. The result is sensory loss, tingling, numbness or abnormal sensations in the little finger and ring finger (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome). In extreme cases, even the grasping function of all fingers is limited.

Adjustable grip angle

The handles on Trionic's products are angle-adjustable which makes it easy for you to find your ideal hand position in order to relieve your wrists. Through the Ergon grip’s 'wing' construction, the hand is fully supported and the wrist is automatically put in an ergonomically ideal position (left photo below).

Choose the right Grip Size

As the hand size is different from person to person, Trionic offers the Ergon GP1 grips in two sizes – Small that corresponds to glove size 6.5-8.5, and Large that corresponds to glove size 8.5-12.0. The difference lies in the diameter of the grip. A larger hand is better able to grip a larger grip with less stress and effort, whilst a smaller hand needs a smaller grip to allow the hand to close around it. But of course, grip size also comes down to personal preference.

  • I can enjoy the outdoors again…

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2012 and my balance and mobility are now at the stage where I feel much safer walking with a rollator. I have a fleet of them! One for airport use (really), one for city sidewalk use and now 2 for outdoor use. I…

  • I have had my Trionic Veloped for two years now and I am very satisfied …

It is easy to manoeuvre, stable, holds a lot and it looks cool. I have tried other walkers with puncture-free tires, but I get muscle pain in my arms from them. I do not get that with the air tires of the Veloped. The rollator works great in the wood…

Brilliant walking aid. Worth every penny. I get stopped every time I go out. Questions and even photos are taken. I’d be lost without it. I suffered a brain haemorrhage and am continually dizzy. It’s robust and like nothing I’ve used. Without it, I’d…
