Hello! How can we help you?

Why will not one lower leg of my stool collapse (fold) into the upper leg and what can be done ?

The reason a lower leg may no longer collapse smoothly into the upper leg is that it has become slightly bent. This usually happens when the stool is used on uneven ground or when too much pressure is placed on one or two legs—for example, when leaning forward or backward to pick something up. A bent lower leg can be difficult both to collapse and to remove.

If this occurs, you can order a replacement lower leg of the same model from www.walkstool.com under Spare Parts. Before ordering, however, you should check whether the upper leg is also bent. The easiest way to do this is to remove one of the other lower legs and try to slide it into the upper leg. If it does not slide in, the upper leg is bent as well, and in that case the only solution is to purchase a new Walkstool.

To avoid this problem in the future, be careful not to put excessive pressure on just one or two legs. This precaution is also mentioned in the blue leaflet included with each folding stool.
