Essential Maintenance Tips for Your Trionic Four-Wheel Walker
A Trionic walker is engineered to last for many years, but like any precision equipment it performs best with regular maintenance. These simple care habits will extend the life of your walker, keep it safe and ensure every walk is as comfortable as the first.
Tyre Pressure – the Foundation of Comfort
Trionic's pneumatic tyres are the key to the smooth, shock-absorbing ride that distinguishes our walkers from conventional rollators. To maintain that ride quality, check tyre pressure every two weeks using a standard bicycle pump with a pressure gauge. The recommended pressure is printed on the tyre sidewall and in your user manual. Under-inflated tyres lose their cushioning effect and increase the risk of pinch punctures; over-inflated tyres reduce grip and make the ride harsher. A quick two-minute pressure check keeps performance optimal.
Brake Inspection and Adjustment
Trionic hub brakes require very little maintenance compared to cable brakes, but it is important to test them regularly. Squeeze each brake handle and check that the wheel locks or slows firmly. If a brake feels spongy or needs more force than usual, have it checked by a Trionic dealer or authorised service centre. Never attempt to adjust hub brakes without the correct tools and knowledge – incorrect adjustment can compromise your safety.
Cleaning After Outdoor Use
After walks on muddy paths, wet grass or sandy beaches, wipe the frame with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Avoid directing high-pressure water jets at the wheel hubs or bearings. Use mild soap for stubborn dirt on plastic parts. Dry the walker completely before storage to prevent rust on metal components and oxidation on the aluminium frame.
Storage and Transport
Store your walker indoors, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes that can degrade rubber components. When transporting in a car, fold the walker using its quick-fold mechanism and secure it in the boot with the safety strap. Never place heavy objects on a folded walker. With proper care, a Trionic walker will serve you reliably for a decade or more.
